April 2026
April was packed with activities, especially from our HR department. We also continued our projects in the defence sector, and our WaSP radio modem successfully completed its first field tests.
RACOM Academy

We launched the RACOM Academy – a project connecting students with real-world projects we work on at RACOM. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, participants solve specific tasks in wireless communications and work on their diploma or PhD theses.
They gain valuable hands-on experience during their studies, and the collaboration often naturally develops into a long-term career at RACOM. The Academy was also presented at the PerFEKT JobFair 2026 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Brno University of Technology.
Scientific Research Recognition

At RACOM, we continuously bridge science and practice. A recent example is the paper Unique Word Channel Estimation for Oversampled OTFS by our colleague Radim Zedka (a RACOM Academy graduate), published in the prestigious journal IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology.
The study, focused on the reliability of OTFS signals under oversampling and pulse shaping, was conducted in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin and Brno University of Technology, demonstrating how advanced academic research translates into real engineering solutions.

WaSP – Field Testing
In April, we carried out field testing of our latest radio router WaSP, designed primarily for communication with unmanned systems. As part of the PRODEF program supporting applied research and innovation in the defence industry, tests of control and data transmission from an unmanned vehicle were conducted.
WaSP performed excellently – operating reliably even in a high-interference environment and ensuring stable data transmission over long distances without line of sight.
