The partnership between RACOM and the Czech Police began in 1995. From the start, the Police required a communication system that could meet unusually strict demands:

- Multi-master polling and report-by-exception
- Nationwide scalability
Over the years, RACOM developed a series of customised radio modems tailored to these requirements – more than 4000 units delivered by 2017.
Solution: Next-Generation RipEX for a Complete Network Upgrade
In 2017, the Czech Police launched a tender to modernise their entire communication infrastructure. After evaluating all major global suppliers, the Police selected a fully customised version of the RipEX platform.
Enhancements included:
- Special firmware features developed specifically for Police operations
- Full support for advanced multi-master communication
- Enhanced resilience for demanding field conditions
- Compatibility with legacy systems while preparing the network for future technologies
The tender included delivery of 3000 RipEX units by the end of 2020, with an option for an additional 2000 units.
