We are not slowing down, even during the summer. We have opened a new market in Algeria, released a new product video for RipEX, and continue to make successful progress in the defence sector.

After more than ten years of effort, we have secured our first project in Algeria. We delivered the first 120 RipEX radio modems for the SCADA network of Algeria’s largest company, Sonatrach, and the project in southern Algeria is expected to continue expanding. In July, we welcomed representatives of the system integrator and our Algerian partner to RACOM headquarters for technical training. Read more here.

In July, we manufactured the very last MR400 radio modem. It is remarkable that this product remained in production for more than 20 years, and that many thousands of installed units are still operating reliably 24/7 in critical infrastructure networks today. Long-term service and support are among the values RACOM has always been committed to. Read the full story, including archive photos, here.

Although most communication today happens online, at RACOM we still believe that personal meetings matter most. That is why we regularly meet with our partners and customers at conferences, exhibitions, training sessions and during personal visits. And equally important to us are meetings within the company – with colleagues and their families.

On 30 Sept – 1 Oct 2026, we will organize the fourth edition of the traditional RACOM Partner Conference, this time focused on the main topic Security in Wireless Critical Communication. The high professional level of the program will be ensured by the participation of external experts, including international guests.
The conference, intended for invited partners and guests, will take place in the charming setting of Czech chateaux and, in addition to the professional program, will also offer a rich social program and plenty of opportunities for informal networking.
If you have not registered yet, do not hesitate – capacity is limited! If you have not received an invitation from us, please let us know. More information is available here.

Following the great success of last year’s RACOM Family Day, we decided to continue this tradition. This year’s edition was dedicated to the history of RACOM. Participants could visit by bikes places where RACOM operated in the past, explore the company’s first products and historical promotional materials, or listen to memories shared by colleagues who have been part of RACOM for more than 30 years.

Last week we travelled to Romania, where a large communication project for ambulances based on M!DGE mobile routers is currently being implemented. Together with our partner CSR, we participated in the BSDA 2026 exhibition focused on defence and security.
We presented our latest embedded radio modem WaSP, which attracted significant interest from both visitors and industry experts. The first feedback confirms that WaSP also has strong potential in international markets.

April was packed with activities, especially from our HR department. We also continued our projects in the defence sector, and our WaSP radio modem successfully completed its first field tests.

We launched the RACOM Academy – a project connecting students with real-world projects we work on at RACOM. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, participants solve specific tasks in wireless communications and work on their diploma or PhD theses.
They gain valuable hands-on experience during their studies, and the collaboration often naturally develops into a long-term career at RACOM. The Academy was also presented at the PerFEKT JobFair 2026 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Brno University of Technology.

At RACOM, we continuously bridge science and practice. A recent example is the paper Unique Word Channel Estimation for Oversampled OTFS by our colleague Radim Zedka (a RACOM Academy graduate), published in the prestigious journal IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology.
The study, focused on the reliability of OTFS signals under oversampling and pulse shaping, was conducted in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin and Brno University of Technology, demonstrating how advanced academic research translates into real engineering solutions.
In April, we carried out field testing of our latest radio router WaSP, designed primarily for communication with unmanned systems. As part of the PRODEF program supporting applied research and innovation in the defence industry, tests of control and data transmission from an unmanned vehicle were conducted.
WaSP performed excellently – operating reliably even in a high-interference environment and ensuring stable data transmission over long distances without line of sight.

In February, RACOM entered the defence sector, as introduced in our previous newsletter. Already in March, this step was followed by invitations to three major defence-focused events.
March was therefore primarily about exhibitions and conferences – across both utilities and defence. Security in mission-critical communication networks remains a key focus, and the past weeks brought valuable opportunities to meet, share experience, and discuss real-world applications.

Power utilities across Latin America are modernising their communication infrastructure, where security and reliability play a crucial role. We have been attending the UTCAL Conference since 2016, and this year we again had our own booth in Rio de Janeiro, represented by David Marek and Lorena Gomez Jurado.
We met with existing customers from Brazil’s utility sector, strengthened relationships, and established new contacts. The event confirmed strong demand for RACOM’s secure and reliable wireless solutions for modern SCADA and telemetry networks.

RACOM was also involved in activities related to NATO DIANA, supporting innovation in defence and security technologies. As part of the NATO DIANA Prague Onsite, our Executive Director Vít Koutenský delivered a masterclass for the 2026 cohort, sharing RACOM’s experience along its defence journey.
The invitation to the NATO DIANA conference confirms our strong position in the defence sector, our ability to deliver secure communication technologies, and our active role in international cooperation.

Shortly after entering the defence sector, RACOM was invited to DefenceTech Innovation in Ostrava. The event brought together experts from industry, academia, and the public sector.
We presented our latest solutions for secure and resilient wireless communication in demanding environments, where reliability and data protection are essential. Discussions confirmed strong interest in our solutions built on the new WaSP radio modem, used in defence applications.

RACOM was invited to Czech UAS Industry Day focused on unmanned and autonomous systems. The event brought together key stakeholders from defence, industry, and research.

We would like to share our latest news with you.
At RACOM, we enjoy meeting not only at work, but also beyond it. This year, we took our traditional autumn get-together in a sporty direction. Watch the video and you may spot colleagues you usually meet at work – this time in action on the sports field.

Personal meetings with our customers are among our long-term priorities. In November, we therefore took part in the Milipol exhibition in Paris and Elec Expo in Casablanca, where we exhibited together with our local distributors. Hundreds of RipEX radio modems are deployed in both France and Morocco, which made our stands lively and full of discussion.

In Romania, our M!DGE cellular routers and RAy microwave links have been particularly successful. In November, RACOM obtained certification from the Romanian government and became an approved supplier for projects in critical infrastructure and 5G networks. This step opens up further significant opportunities for us in Romanian market.

Thank you all for your cooperation in 2025. We look forward to continue working with you in 2026. We wish you a peaceful and pleasant holiday season and well-deserved time off. May 2026 be a successful year for you in every respect!

We would like to share our latest news with you.

With the implementation of the ACM (Adaptive Coding & Modulation) feature, we are taking our RipEX radio modem to a completely new level. RipEX now automatically sets the highest possible speed. Your network will always run at maximum performance under any conditions and on top of that, configuration and setup are significantly simplified. Learn more here.

Awarded the title “Company of the Vysočina Region 2025”, we were recognized for our long-term stability, regional contribution, engineering precision and ability to bring top-tier technology from a small town in our region to global markets. We thank our entire team and look forward to our next shared steps. Read the full story here.

In the remote mountainous terrain of the Minas Gerais state in Brazil, Cemig deployed RipEX radio modems for an early-warning system protecting seven hydroelectric dams. The modems in most locations are solar-powered and in the Cajurú area RipEX units with a cellular module are used for automatic LTE backup operation. Learn more in the case study here.
A regular firmware upgrade is standard for us. This time it is particularly significant, because beyond the implementation of ACM we have again raised the level of security — it is now possible to log any firewall rule into the Event Log for detection of potential software or network attacks. Further details are available in the video or here.
