RACOM Enters the Defence Sector!

We are proud to announce that, in addition to critical infrastructure, RACOM is now also focusing on supplies for the defence sector. We bring to the defence industry the same strengths for which we are valued in critical infrastructure: 30 years of experience, in-house development and manufacturing in Czechia, maximum reliability, security, and technical support.

In connection with our entry into the defence sector, we are introducing a new product line Embedded Data Radios – radio modems designed for integration into a wide range of devices.

At the very beginning of the year, we have several updates to share with you.

The year 2025 was exceptionally successful for RACOM, exceeding our expectations. Once again, it confirmed that our long-term strategy, strong focus on technological quality, and above all the excellent work of our entire team deliver tangible results. We are proud to have been growing continuously for 35 years, and all indications suggest that 2026 will be another very good year. Learn more here.

This year’s Christmas party was a great success. Many colleagues accepted the challenge set by our HR team and arrived in period costumes inspired by the 1930s. The fantastic atmosphere of the evening once again showed that our team works perfectly together not only professionally, but also knows how to enjoy time together. DistribuTECH is the most important event in the fields of power distribution and generation, automation, metering, SCADA, telemetry, and smart cities. We informed you about our victory in the regional round of the Company of the Year 2025 competition and our advancement to the national finals in the October edition of the Newsletter. RACOM also succeeded at the national level, achieving an overall second place. At RACOM, we enjoy meeting not only at work, but also beyond it. This year, we took our traditional autumn get-together in a sporty direction. Watch the video and you may spot colleagues you usually meet at work – this time in action on the sports field.

Personal meetings with our customers are among our long-term priorities. In November, we therefore took part in the Milipol exhibition in Paris and Elec Expo in Casablanca, where we exhibited together with our local distributors. Hundreds of RipEX radio modems are deployed in both France and Morocco, which made our stands lively and full of discussion.

In Romania, our M!DGE cellular routers and RAy microwave links have been particularly successful. In November, RACOM obtained certification from the Romanian government and became an approved supplier for projects in critical infrastructure and 5G networks. This step opens up further significant opportunities for us in Romanian market.

In the remote mountainous terrain of the Minas Gerais state in Brazil, Cemig deployed RipEX radio modems for an early-warning system protecting seven hydroelectric dams. The modems in most locations are solar-powered and in the Cajurú area RipEX units with a cellular module are used for automatic LTE backup operation. Learn more in the case study here.

A regular firmware upgrade is standard for us. This time it is particularly significant, because beyond the implementation of ACM we have again raised the level of security — it is now possible to log any firewall rule into the Event Log for detection of potential software or network attacks. This time, our traditional all-company gathering took place at the SMT center in Blansko. As always, it featured popular sports activities, great food, informal discussions and a friendly atmosphere. At the end of March, we opened our doors to the families of our employees and it was far from a typical tour! Children got hands-on with real activities: assembling and soldering components, running around like data packets in a network, testing the cold in a climate chamber, folding origami bats… Check out the video and read more here.

Late March and early April were a busy time for our sales team. We exhibited at Distributech in Dallas and UTCAL in Rio de Janeiro and in the meantime we also visited our customers in Mexico. All events were a great success – strengthening relationships with our partners and bringing in new orders.

In March, we released a firmware upgrade for RipEX2 and M!DGE3 devices. It brings enhanced security (including firmware and configuration integrity checks), PPP dial-up support and improved diagnostics – such as manual test event generation, visibility ARP tables of neighboring stations and IP addresses in radio protocol records. This certification confirms that RACOM maintains a high level of security for its information systems, ensuring that sensitive data is protected against cyber threats, data breaches, and unauthorized access.

In response to customer demand, the RipEX2 and M!DGE3 FW has a major new feature: the internal Wi-Fi mPCIe module now supports a Wi-Fi access point, enabling wireless connection of external devices. For increased security, backup configuration and user account files can now be downloaded and uploaded in encrypted format, remote access can be disabled and and there are other improvements in the latest FW.
