This Full Outdoor Software Defined Radio with Linux OS, is designed for high performance links with maximum reliability, exceptional system gain and resistance to disturbances. All relevant state-of-the-art concepts have been carefully implemented without compromise.

RAy is well proven within the market since 2009 in thousands of installations in tens of countries from the poles to the equator. It is used by Internet Service Providers as well as global Telco operators for both, backbone and last-mile microwave links.

Trade name – trade and marketing name of the product. This name is used for the all products within the same product family.
Possible values: RAy

Gen. – generation of the product of specific Trade name. The very first generation doesn’t have any number in this position.
Possible values: none, 2, 3

Band – frequency band in GHz
Possible values: 10, 11, 17, 18, 24

Var. – designation of product variant, if it is used. Generally more variants can be used within one unit, i.e. more letters can be on this position. This variant can’t be ordered and included in the unit later on.

R – RF Output power -30 to -15 dBm, for RAy2-24 and RAy3-24 only
S – MTU 2048 Bytes, for RAy3-24 only

FRQ – frequency.
Possible values:
L – unit transmits on lower part of the band
U – unit transmits on lower part of the band

RAy2-10, RAy2-11, RAy2-18 – different HW for upper and lower unit
RAy3-24 – L/U is used, but indicates only TX default which can be changed, the same HW for lower and upper unit
RAy2-17, RAy2-24 – L/U is not used, the same HW for upper and lower unit

A,B,C – frequency sub-bands for RAy2-10, RAy2-11, RAy2-18
Two letters (L/U and A/B/C) are used in RAy2-10, RAy2-11, RAy2-18 cases.

SW keys – if unit is ordered with SW keys, all keys are specified in this bracket. SW key can be ordered independently for specific S/N anytime later on.
Possible values:
100, 200, 300 – for RAy2, default is 100 Mbps, optional SW key for 200 or 360 Mbps
360, 500, 1000 – for RAy3, default is 360 Mbps, optional SW key for 500 or 1000 Mbps

The allowed EIRP in the 24 - 24.25GHz ISM band (RAy 24) is +20 dBm.
 RSS [dBm]
RSS (Received Signal Strength). Theoretical maximum received signal strength (transmission through a vacuum)
 RSS voltage output [V]
This is important for the antenna alignment. RSS is converted to a voltage that is measurable at the unit's RSS voltage output connector.

Racom s.r.o. provides these calculations to assist in your purchasing decisions; illustrating the capabilities of RAy microwave links. Calculations in the model are based on the dataset supplied by Google. Link availability indicators have been calculated using current ITU-R P.530-15 for rain attenuation and multipath fading only. Other losses are ignored. If there is not clear Fresnel zone the calculation results may not be correct.
It is necessary to know the GPS coordinates of the end points and the antenna heights above the ground for availability calculation.
