MR400, an older generation of RACOM radio modems produced since 2005 is nearing its end-of-life. It is time to upgrade SCADA networks where they are used.

RAy2-17 and RAy2-24 for 17 and 24 GHz bands are no longer in production; there are limited numbers of RAy2-24 units in stock. RAy2-17 and RAy2-24 have been fully replaced by RAy3-17 and RAy3-24 which have better technical parameters. RAy2 support, warranty and post warranty services continue without restriction.

Production of RAy2-10, RAy2-11 and RAy2-18 carries on without changes.

RAy3-X and RipEX2-X, the versions with a processor containing HW encryption option, no longer bring any benefits. The manufacturer of the processor discontinued support for the HW accelerator for AES encryption. There is now no difference between ‘X’ and ‘E’ versions; the accelerator in the ‘X’ version can no longer be used; both versions are using the same SW encryption.

RAy3-X production has already stopped and RipEX2-X will follow soon.

It may happen that even if you order ‘X’ version, you will receive ‘E’ and vice versa dependent on current availability in our stock.

Despite Covid restrictions we retain normal production and other services without any outages. All incoming orders are processed within standard delivery times. Technical Support is fully operational, albeit remotely. Wherever possible, home office has been the preferred option and online meetings are used.

All staff working in RACOM premises must pass a Covid test every week and testing is also mandatory for all persons who enter RACOM. FFP2 masks must be worn everywhere within RACOM premises.

RACOM continues to provide special conditions for the supply of Microwave links to Internet providers to increase capacity in their networks at this time when the majority of the population are working from home offices and students learning remotely.

The situation in Czech Rep. is beginning to return to normal. Fortunately, RACOM was not directly affected by the Covid pandemic. Our production was and still is running without any outages.

Our offer to support others regardless of profit during the Covid crisis was taken up by the WISP community and we delivered more than 300 discounted Microwave links. Remote life is now easier for many people.

Stay safe, the light at the end of the tunnel is visible!

Since face-to-face meetings will probably not be possible for some time to come, we have decided to use videos for remote technical presentations of our products.

The first commented technical video presentation of RipEX radio modem is now ready. We also redesigned the product web page and included the video there.

Videos for RAy and M!DGE will follow soon.

The new RAy info sheet about Efficient Spectrum Use and Spectral efficiency has been published. It contains detailed information about unique RAy features – narrow and asymmetric channels and polarization switch and their advantages in practice.

Sales figures since launch show the market is eager for a microwave product with these unique features.

RACOM is now more active on social media keeping the RACOM community updated with important information.

Our Facebook profile, launched in March 2020, has been accepted very well and our posts have had many engagements and likes. We have also revamped our LinkedIn profile and we are publishing on both platforms at least once a week. Our YouTube channel is now better organized and more videos will be added soon.

Our infrastructure and production are robust. Production and shipping continue as normal and we anticipate that we will be able to respond well in any situation.

We are in regular communication with our suppliers and have not heard any negative information to concern us.  Whilst we expect no change to our service levels, we apologize in advance if you experience any minor disruptions or delays. If we become aware of any potential problems, we will inform you in a timely manner and look to provide the most suitable solution.

Since many people are now working from home, there is a much higher requirement for internet connections. RACOM is ready to provide special conditions and prices for its Microwave links used for internet connections and SW keys for higher speed. Contact us for details.

RACOM has had tools in place for many years to support working from home, communicating remotely in one-to-one and group situations. This has made it a relatively easy process to encourage all staff, not physically required to be at RACOM’s premises, to self-isolate and work remotely from home.

For those colleagues who need to attend work, measures have been introduced to guarantee higher levels of hygiene and to ensure maximum ‘social distancing’ becomes an everyday part of life at RACOM. This also includes non-contact with visitors and mechanisms in place to ensure deliveries and collections can continue without the need for personal contact.

• All government recommendations and regulations are fully implemented in RACOM

RACOM management is closely monitoring the situation and carefully tracks all recommendations and regulations regarding COVID-19 announced by the Czech government. All are immediately put in place.
