Personalización de SW (MIDGE2)
5G
La mayoría de los operadores están construyendo redes 5G NSA (no autónomas). Las redes 5G NSA necesitan que la red 4G/LTE existente esté funcionando, por lo que no se puede apagar.
El despliegue de redes 5G SA (autónomas) es muy costoso y es muy probable que solo se construyan en lugares con alta densidad de suscriptores.
Dado que la mayoría de las redes 5G nuevas son del tipo NSA y necesitan la infraestructura existente para funcionar, no hay que preocuparse ya que M!DGE3 o M!DGE2 no funcionan en ellas.
Las aplicaciones en las que se utiliza M!DGE no se beneficiarán de las principales ventajas de las futuras redes 5G SA (alta velocidad, baja latencia…). Como no está claro cuándo y dónde se construirán las redes 5G SA, no tiene sentido equipar M!DGE en serie con un módulo 5G de alto costo ahora. Una opción mejor y más económica es agregar el módulo de expansión mPCI solo en los casos en que realmente sea necesario.
